Oh and I got married, had a honeymoon, and I am now back to bring you more regular updates.
It is time. The KickStarter has begun.
If you have read anything about this game and thought it sounded like something you wanted to play, please think about backing. If you have seen a video and thought it was a world you wanted to go into, please think about backing. This is not going to get made without the support of the players, and I am sure there are a lot of us that really want to play this game. Players who want to see Chronicles of Elyria made. Players who want to see Soulbound Studios ideas realised. Players who want to live out their MMORPG fantasies. Please consider backing if you can afford to.

When: Monday, march 21st at 4pm PDT / 7pm EDT / 11pm GMT. That’s right daylight saving time has started in America, but not in Europe. It is a bit all over the place so make sure you know the right time for your region.
How: Questions can be submitted in advance here.
It has been a while since we had a Q&A and this time they have some stipulations. Basically don’t bother asking about the KickStarter tiers and that information is coming later and they have another Q&A planned for the business model so leave that to one side too. However, everything else is fair game! Remember to up vote the questions you want to see get answered as that is how the questions get chosen.
Today was the announcement we have been waiting for, and it was worth the wait. The headline news is that Soulbound Studios will be starting their KickStarter on May 3rd 2016, and are asking for our help in reaching a funding goal of $900k. However, that headline did not come alone and it is the supporting information that really captured my attention.
It is accompanied by a letter from Jeromy ‘Caspian’ Walsh the owner and Creative Director of Soulbound Studios. It explains why they are making this project, why they asking for your money to do it, and why they are asking for the amount they have chosen.
The announcement is also supported by a video. Our first official footage of Elyira, of the world many of us want to call home. Not only is it exciting to finally see it, but it was also incredibly moving to see the game coming to life. Watch it yourself and see how far they have come alone and consider if you want to be part of getting them the rest of the way. We will be getting a lot more information before the KickStarter on May 3rd but this is a great start:

There are so many great conversations across the forums, IRC and the web in general based on speculation and discussion. That means I know you have questions. Questions that might be answered if you go to the above thread and submit them. Also if you do not have questions why no go to the thread and like the ones you want to see answered.

We are being spoilt with another live stream this Monday. With no new Developers Journal out it really is a free for all on the questions. So whatever you have in mind get over to the forums and get asking. The harder the better!

That is right we are getting our first live streamed Q&A of the year this Monday. There was a Developers Journal out on Friday and by the sounds of it another one on the way for Monday before the Q&A. So if they haven’t raised enough questions for you then there are all the other questions you have buzzing around your head. I know you have some, so no excuses for not submitting your queries now!
You might have noticed a new button on the menu up there. *Points up above the gorgeous concept art.* Yes that’s right we now have a Glossary.
The idea is simple this is a new game. New games have a habit of bringing with them a lot of new terms. Or even more confusing taking terms we thought we knew and giving them a different spin. The Glossary takes all these words and puts them in a alphabetised list with some handy definitions.
Think I have missed something? Is there a word you think should be in the list? Well you are probably right! So why not let me know either in the comments below or over on twitter @ElyriaEcho.
On Monday, July 27th Soulbound Studios announced the development of Chronicles of Elyria an MMORPG.
The studio might be new but it is led by industry veterans Jeromy Walsh (15 years in the game industry) and Eddie Smith (17 years producing concept art and beautiful images). Their experience may well explain why a start-up company is tackling such a large initial project as an MMORPG, especially one that turns a lot of the expected MMO features on their head. The studio describes Chronicles of Elyria as ‘innovative’ and the systems they have described so far seemingly back up that claim with characters having lifespans, family units, scheming guilds, and community driven content all set in a dynamic immersive world.
